ADVOCACY 101: ENGAGING YOUR STATE AND FEDERAL REPRESENTATIVES

A presentation by the NYSACAC Government Relations Committee. Learn about the ways in which you can get involved in state and federal politics. Become an advocate for your profession, and for the students and families that we work with every day.

SO … WHAT’S A NECBAC?

NECBAC is a professional organization for admission representatives who promote enrollment of students of color. We exchange information pertaining to admission policies. This session will describe the key benefits of partnering across institutions with peers and colleagues to share best practices in recruiting SOCs at four-year institutions.

MAKING AN IMPACT WITH ACCEPT

The ACCEPT Facebook group -- and groups that have been established across the country -- seeks to educate and motivate members to recognize social justice issues and their relationship to the college transition. This forum would do the same things: raise issues, provide resources, encourage conversation and inspire action.
