Experience life along the Hudson at the Payne Mansion

Raymond A. Rich bequeathed to Marist a 60-acre riverfront estate in the Ulster County Town of Esopus that contains one of the most historically and architecturally significant homes in the Hudson Valley. Built in 1905 by Colonel Oliver Hazard Payne, a brigadier general in the Civil War, the “Payne Mansion,” also known over the years as “Omega” and "Wiltwyck," is a 42,000-square-foot Beaux Arts-style palazzo designed by the famed Manhattan firm of Carrère and Hastings, architects of the New York Public Library and the Frick Museum.  The Payne Mansion now serves as the Hub for the Marist Leadership Institute

Enjoy a breathtaking tour of the mansion followed by a Civil War reenactment overlooking the Hudson River.  A buffet dinner and Hudson Valley wines provided by The Millbrook Winery will be served under a tent on the estate’s beautiful grounds.
